Ensuring a Ragging-Free Campus

Satyanarayan Gupt Madhuri Devi Mahavidyalay strictly follows the guidelines of the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India to prohibit ragging in all forms on campus. The committee ensures strict vigilance, awareness programs, and immediate action against any act of ragging.

Ragging in any form is prohibited and punishable under the UGC Regulations on Curbing the Menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions, 2009. Our institution is committed to maintaining a safe, friendly, and inclusive environment for every student.

Committee Members

UGC Guidelines on Anti-Ragging

Ragging constitutes one or more of the following acts:

• Any conduct by any student or group of students that has the effect of teasing, treating, or handling with rudeness a fresher or any other student.
• Indulging in rowdy or undisciplined activities which cause annoyance, hardship, or psychological harm.
• Asking any student to do acts which such student will not do in the ordinary course.
• Any act that violates the dignity and respect of students.
• Any act of abuse, whether physical or verbal, causing shame or embarrassment.

Punishments for Ragging:

• Suspension from attending classes.
• Debarring from appearing in examinations.
• Withholding results.
• Expulsion from the institution.
• Filing of FIR and legal action under criminal law.

Procedure for Complaints:

1. Contact any committee member directly.
2. Submit a written complaint or send via official email.
3. Attach any evidence (photos, videos, witness statements).
4. Committee will investigate confidentially and take action as per UGC norms.
